Photobook Review

Well, we all love and know Kodak – they have been a staple in my photographic life, especially since finally switching to digital. When I want to share my photos or when I have a large batch of good quality photos to print, I head to my Kodak Gallery – all my wedding photographs and Red Ted’s baby photos have been shared and printed through Kodak.

However, as the volumes of photographs increase (it is so easy to take 100s of photos a week with digital cameras), I have found that I am printing less and less of them and looking at them less often. Which is a contradiction on in terms. Why take them if you are not going to look at them?

Some of our “milestones” – “Playingt the Piano” and signing our word for “More”

Then 2yrs ago, I first dabbled with my own “photobook”. I wasn’t sure if they were a bit gimmicky at first and also had a whole load of 1st year photos for Red Ted printed off, but found that said photos are still in an envelope and on my “to do list”, whilst the photobook has been enjoyed by Red Ted, Granny, Grandpa and of course Mummy and Daddy. So, I did another 6mths ago, put a little more effort in this time and am hooked. I like to include photos, such as his friends (ok, Mummy’s friends), his favourite toys and activities (listening to the washing machine) – and that way when you “read” the book to him, he really relates to it and enjoys it!

Special moments with new sister:

I will do one annually from now on!

What I like:

* You select the same photos as before (same time taken for uploading, as it takes to have them printed) – i.e. the photos are easy to load and the books are very easy to create

* You can add text as you go along

* You have a nice sized photo album (i.e. book) at the end of which, which doesn’t take up too much space compared to traditional photo albums

* You don’t have the cost of traditional photo album

* You can make instant copies for grandparents (and I have made copies for when the children are older) – fabulous for Christmas presents (though Granny got one for her Birthday last year)

* No photos “fall out”, get lost and create those annoying “white gaps”

Enough reasons for you? Why not give it a go?

Take advantage of this VERY SPECIAL 2 for 1 deal (I tell you, they are worth every penny):

Get 2 Kodak Photo Books for the price of 1 with voucher code 2FOR1PHOTOBOOKS. Visit the Kodak Gallery for more information on the selection of different books they do.

Valid until 31.01.11 on Maximum of 1 free Photo Book per customer, voucher code can only be used once. Offer is valid on all Photo Book types (excluding the mini book).

Now, to the EXCITING bit:

Kodak is looking to find a “Photo Book Family”. The ‘Photo Book Family’ will win a KODAK Pocket Video Camera and KODAK Gallery credit (with which you can make a photo book).

  • Prize: 1 x KODAK PLAYSPORT Video Camera, £50 worth of KODAK Gallery credit.
  • Winner requirements: The winner will be required to supply Kodak with footage of their family compiling their Photo Book within 28 days of receiving the prize.
  • Competition dates: Starts Dec 1st – Ends Dec 12th.

To enter, simply send an email with your full name, address and best family photo to stating that you want to enter the Kodak Photo Family competition and mention that you saw this on Red Ted Art. Kodak will then select a winner and contact the winner directly.

The competition is running across 10 fabulous blogs (of course, I would say that, as I am one of the blogs hosting it!!!) and one winner will be picked from all the entries.
