Around the World with Mouk (Sticker Book) Around the World with Mouk (Sticker Book) By Marc Boutavant

We have had our eye on Mouk for quite some time now and for some reason or another never got round to buying it. I heard “great things”, but didn’t know much about it. We finally bought with some Christmas vouchers and the book arrive 2-3 days ago. Since then, I kid you not, we have probably spent 1-2hours PER DAY on it! Red Ted cannot get enough. Mouk is a little bear that decides to travel around the world. The book starts off with Mouk waking up and getting ready to go and meet his friends in the coffee shop to tell them about his journey. He then sets off. Visiting all sorts of countries and places such as Lapland, Greece, The Sarah etc etc At each stop he writes a note home to his friends about where he is and who he meets and we all get a “taste” of that country. Red Ted was already enjoying before we discovered that we had bought the “sticker” version inadvertently. These are the kind of stickers you can peel off and on again. Fabulous. So we then spent hours rearranging them – putting masks on Mouk and his friends, finding an octopus to put in the see, some butterflies to paint on an Indian elephant. The book ends when Mouk returns home and tells his friends even more stories about the places he has seen. The back of the book then also has a world  map with his journey traced on.

Why we like it: well, Red Ted (almost 3yrs) cannot keep his hands off it. So it speaks for itself and I like it, because it is a FABULOUS way to introduce the “concept” of the world and other countries. I am not sure whether Red Ted REALLY understands, but he loves tracing the journey on the map and we talk about where Austria is and where Daddy was born and where we live. I highly recommend this book to anyone starting talking about the “World” to their children!

Like the sound of Mouk? Why not buy it through my Amazon store? This will secure me a small commission, which will help continue this blog going.. you will still only pay the “normal” Amazon price. Win win!

That sounds fab and I bet my 2yo would love it. I wish I knew how to spend an hour on a book without the baby muscling in and causing havoc, though!

Mouk is a favorite in our house as well! We have lost most of the stickers but my daughter still loves to look at it and see all the interesting animals.

  7. Oh we love this one! I got sent it as part of the Picture book swap and it’s a definite favourite. All the little details, the wonderful colours, plus the different languages – just wonderful. Here’s another Boutavant book I’ve just been reading about:

That book looks great! I tried to buy it from your store, but it was in pounds and I am in the U.S. So I clicked through to regular Amazon and will order that way. I hope you still get a commission from the click through.
