Managing your Energy Online

| June 26, 2012 | 2 Comments

I don’t know about you, but right now my life seems FAR TOO BUSY!  I have so many things to do and my to do list is forever growing (and never getting shorter). How to manage.

To be honest, I am not sure I would, if it were not for the internet (as a blogger and social media addict, that hardly comes as a surprise). But joking aside, I do pretty much all my banking online (who sends cheques?!), I do most of my supermarket shopping online (I hate going to the shops with the kids and pram in tow), I do most of my present buying online (I can shop around, without getting exhausted) etc.

So why not my energy..? Doh. Of course. Afterall, it is one our key home costs and I am pleased to see that British Gas have launched their range of online tools to make things easier. You can manage your bills, your meter readings and even book an engineer.

I confess that the meter reading tool is my favourite. You don’t know how often I have either missed the meter reading man… or… have had the fright of my life when someone knocks on my door after dark on a winter’s evening. AND THEN WANTS TO COME IN?! Eeek. No thanks. I will do my own meter reading if I can!

Yep. I like that.

I also like, that I can easily see what we are using – that we are neither over or underpaying on our Direct Debit (yes, an overpayment at the end of the year results in a nice little bit of surprise cash, but to be honest, we usually need the money in the here and now and not tomorrow. And underpayment.. well, that is just bad).

So to sum it up benefits (straight from the horse’s mouth) are:

  • Check your balance
  • Print your bill
  • Enter meter reads
  • Book an engineer visit
  • Monitor your consumption
  • Instant Direct Debit refunds
  • Compare your usage

So. Want to save a little time? As well as manage your bills better? Then hop over to British Gas and Find out more and Register now!

I feel so much better knowing that someone else does everything on-line. You also save a load of money! especially when it comes to buying presents. With grocery shopping on-line you are also less tempted to buy food that you do not really want.
