We used “ordinary” printing paper – I think thinner is better. And our leaves were fresh but dry. The dried ones MAY crumble under the pressure?

I have two quick questions. FIrst, what type or weight of paper works best for these delightful rubbings? Also, should the leaves be fresh, or will dried ones work okay? Thank you for your help. I am excited to to this activity with my daughter.

Leaves are definitely the most magical, but I was surprised how much the enjoyed going out “hunting” for things to rub!

OH!! This is our favorite thing to do in fall and I actually think the result is beautiful. You can rub so many different things but my kids and I love to rub autumn leaves.
