Hama Bead Bowl – Gifts Kids Can Make

| | | |

If you are on Pinterest you will have already seen these wonderful HAMA BEAD bowls. A great little craft that kids can make as Father’s Day gift or Mother’s Day gift or a friend (more Gifts Kids Can Make Here). The idea originally came from Danish Blogger Wooz and I have seen many copies of it since and have been wanting to make some our self for a while. I think they make great Key and Change Bowls to give to “Dad on Father’s Day” or a lovely gift to Auntie at Christmas.

Fathers Day Gift - easy Hama Bead Bowls (or Perler Bead bowls/ Melty bead bowls, depending on what you call them!). A quirky and fun make and a great gift idea. We show you how to make patterns too!

The only thing we did “differently”, was to “squeeze” the bowl a little into shape with a spoon ones it came out of the oven. And also… we experimented with adding patterns in the middle:

Hama Bead Heart

We made a little heart first. Melted it with the iron, to set it.

Then placed it in the bowl and carefully added different coloured layers of Hama Beads. You could easily to a little flower in the middle or if “keen” write the word Dad. The key is to make them FIRST, so that they don’t fall apart as you try and add more of the beads.

Pretty, no? Red Ted’s uncle will be getting one of these. And the kids each wanted one with a heart in the middle. Lovely!
