Easy Whale Bookmark Corner Design

Our Summer of Reading continues, with, yes you guessed it, another Corner Bookmark Design!! Well you can never have too many books and you can never have too many bookmarks (and if you do have too many bookmarks.. then why not sell them to friends and family – my kids did and raised enough money for their own pet gerbils as well as a little for the WWF! Hooray!). Today’s bookmark is another Sea Animal Bookmark or “under the sea” bookmark. Again, it is an “old bookmark” that I created on YouTube a while ago: The Paper Whale Corner Bookmark Design!

How to make a Corner Bookmark Whale

As mentioned in the video below, this cute little paper whale bookmark was invented by my daughter a couple of years ago. I can’t believe it has taken me so long to share this Corner Bookmark Design with you!! But I hope you enjoy it today regardless! So to begin with.. do watch the Easy Whale Origami Bookmark video or hope below for some written instructions.

Easy Whale Origami Bookmark Design Step By Step Instructions

Begin by making a basic Origami Bookmark in blue. We have Origami Bookmark Step by Step Instructions (including photos) or check our handy Whale Corner Bookmark video above!

Once you have made the basic Origami Bookmark, it is time to shape it and decorate it!

Shape your Whale Bookmark

Round off the bottom of the bookmark – it is almost a semi circle, with a little tail win at the end.

Then round off the sides (and keep the “bits”) as well as the top of the Whale’s head.

The “bits” you saved are JUST big enough to cut two Whale fins…

Cut your Whale’s Details

Cut our some whale eyes – you can have lots of fun, adding different types of yes – making them look in different directions.

And a big white semi circle in white for the whale’s body or teeth – depending on how you see it.

Add black details  in pen.

Glue your Paper Whale Bookmark Together

Now simply position your eyes, fins and “under belly” and glue down.

Your Whale Bookmark is FINISHED!!! YAY!
