Rocking Paper Plate Pig Crafts for Kids
Aaaah we do all love a good Paper Plate Craft for kids.. and there are lots of “classic” Paper Plate Pig crafts out there… however.. we like to make our our paper plate crafts a little more special… and have a great ROCKING Paper Plate Pig Craft for you today (you may also rather like our 3d Paper Plate Pig Mask guest post too!!). Isn’t it cute? And there are two ways you can make these paper plate pigs.. choose the one you and the kids like best!

To make a Rocking Paper Plate Pig you will need:
- A paper plate
- pink paint
- pink paper scraps (or use the pink paint to paint some paper/ card)
- a glue stick
- a little tape
- scissors
- pen
How to make a Rocking Paper Plate Pig for Chinese New Year
Paint your paper plate pink and let dry.
Cut out your pig face shapes – you will need some circles/ ovals for the face and snout, some triangles for the ears and optional some light pink cheeks. We used contrasting pinks.
Stick your face shapes together and add details in pen.
Fold your paper plate in half and secure with a little tape (if needed, sometimes the paper plate will unfold).
Cut out some feet and add a little black to the pig’s trotters.
Now is decision time – do you want to make a:
Sidewise facing pig (this looks adorable but doesn’t rock as well – as the right hand side is a little heavier due to the head and will always lean that way). You can add a paper curled tail too!
Or a forward facing pig (great for rocking? As the weight is evenly distributed!).
We went for a forward rocking one in the end! If you wish you can fold the side down (or cut the corners off) to shape the paper plate pig further.
Done.. wasn’t that easy? So fun and such a cute craft for the Year of the Pig!
