Wrapping Paper Ideas for Kids

Last year, we went through a “spate” of making our own wrapping paper. It was partly due to the fact, that we had RUN OUT of wrapping paper, but also because I thought it would be fun to involve the kids in making our own wrapping paper. A great outlet for their creativity, with a practical use! I am also a great fan of using brown paper or a simple box and wrapping it with a big colourful ribbon. During the Christmas season you can further decorate that with a homemade Christmas ornament, then add a homemade card and you have a really special gift.

This particular gift was filled with crafty goodies, and I encouraged the recipient to keep the box and decorated it!

When my kids were small we would take huge pieces of plain paper, felt tip pens and write the recipients name in different colours, sizes and handwriting randomly all over the paper and then wrap. Without fail the recipients loved the paper, my kids loved making the paper and it was sooo much cheaper as well.
