Amigurumi Crochet Capybara Sample

Today, I get to share this lovely Amigurumi Pet Capybara.. so you get a taste for this wonderful book (though be warned, you will get hooked and will want to make them all). So let’s get started:

The capybara is the largest rodent in the world and is often called a ‘giant guinea pig’. These gentle animals are shy, not aggressive, don’t shed and love being around other capybaras. Because of their size, they need a lot of food and a big space with dry land and water to swim in. That’s not the case with Captain. Our capybara would be happy in any room of your home, doesn’t need water and will thrive on your love and attention!

Abbreviations

U.S. Abbreviations are used throughout. The book has a great “front matter”, revisiting all basic stitches, that you can crochet along to – with detailed illustrations for clarity! That said, you can also refresh yourself with our Learn How To Crochet blogpost here.

Note: this pattern uses the Bobble Stitch – some beginners are “scared” of this stitch, but it is actually really easy and a really fun stitch to learn how tomake. It is great for “low sew” crochet patterns too!
