Hello Everyone, I am Jen and am passionate about crafting and cooking, and can often be found in the kitchen teaching my boys (aged 9 and 10) to make pizza dough, or making homemade gifts for family and friends. When not up to my eyes in flour or paint, I can be found writing about living a creative family life at www.muminthemadhouse.com an award winning craft blog. Today I am going to share with you a super simple cable tie or zip tie heart garland. We fell in love with crafting with cable ties when we made cable tie firework sculptures. They are something that most of us have in our homes and you can get some really fab colours now. The other great thing about crafting with cable ties is they are perfect for hospitals as they need to have items that can be cleaned.

How to make a Cable Tie Heart Garland
Yes all you need for this fab garland is just cable ties and your hands, which is why it is a brilliant mess free activity. I love the repetitive nature, it is great for winding down and working on fine motor skills and also perfect for popping in a busy bag.
First, close the zip tie so that the tail is on the inside.
Then pinch the bottom between your fingers to make the point of the heart.
Continue with the next making sure you loop it through the first.
It really is as simple as that. You can mix things up by using larger or smaller cable ties. We used four inch ones to make our garland.
