Oooh it is time to combine two of my favourite things – Valentine’s Day Crafts for Preschoolers and Unicorn Crafts!! Have a go at these adorable Paper Plate Valentine’s Unicorns for the 31 Days of Love series!
Hello everyone! My name is Stef and I blog over at Non-Toy Gifts. I started crafting with my boys when my oldest was a preschooler. He is a first grader this year and by now we have managed to create together a collection of 100 + easy crafts for kids.
We love using all sorts of materials for our crafts, from paper, paper rolls and yarn to nature elements like rocks and sticks. Paper plates are among our favorites and if you come over to our blog, you’ll discover a rather big collection of paper plate crafts.
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we decided to put another paper plate to good use and turn it into a unicorn. Actually we have created two of them as we couldn’t decide if our unicorn should be white or have a Valentine color. My kids preferred the white one, while I still think the red unicorn is cuter.

How to make a Paper Plate Valentine’s Unicorn Craft
If you want to make a colored unicorn, start by painting the paper plate red, pink, purple or any color of your choice. Set the paper plate aside and let it dry completely.
Use a pencil to trace the unicorn horn on glitter foam and cut it out. Glue it to the back of the paper plate.
Draw a few hearts on colored paper. Cut them out and glue them on the paper plate, underneath the horn. If you have a heart punch, you can use it. I have a small one and so I was able to add a cute little heart to the heart bouquet.
Trace the ears and the ear details on colored paper, cut them out and glue them together. Add the ears onto the paper plate, one ear on each side.
Draw the unicorn’s sleepy eyes with a black marker.
Use a small circle punch to make two circles and glue them under the eyes, one on each side.
