At our house we love play dough (what kid doesn’t?!) and it also makes a cute, easy gift for a child, and can be customized for pretty much any occasion. I usually try to make our play dough in a safe, edible version incase my son tries to take a bite (which happens more than I’d like to admit!)
To make this I first mixed up a batch of my Simple Neon Play Clay Dough, using neon pink food coloring. Then, I added in a red heart cookie cutter, and packaged it all up in an adorable red chevron striped gabled box (which I picked up in the $1 section at Target! Score!) I added a foam heart, and wrote the message “You are ‘dough’ special to me” on it, and attached it with some neat red-and-white bakers twine.
Pretty easy to throw together this gift that your little one it sure to love!
I gave it to my older son to try out. He immediately loved it, and was super excited to play with the dough and stamp the cookie cutter into it! He played with it for quite some time, and I was even able to make lunch and eat it (imagine that?) Success! 🙂
Thanks for having me over to Red Ted Art to share, and I hope you enjoyed this easy, fun gift idea you can make for your child.
