Cardboard Princess Carriage DIY

|

We love recycling and we love Cardboard Crafts! There is nothing more exciting for young kids than the prospect of playing with a BIG BOX!! How magical then, when Facebook reader Michael Weeks turned one large box, into this adorable DIY Cardboard Princess Carriage for his little girl?

Cardboard Box Princess Carriage

This DIY Princess Carriage is so cute.. and the delight on his little girl’s face is SO wonderful, that I simply HAD to share these photos with you.

A big thank you for Michael for not only creating this magical craft, but also for letting us share these photos with you here on Red Ted Art! Compared to our normal craft posts, this isn’t a “full tutorial”, but serves you more as ongoing inspiration. Afterall.. cardboard boxes come in all shapes and sizes… and if we made it an exact measurement kind of craft, we would fail before we started!

What you do however need is:

  • a stanley knife for cutting
  • some paint
  • and some elbow grease
  • a big cardboard box
What to make with a big box

We have worked with big pieces of cardboard before. And yes, it IS difficult to cut into shape. But the results are always worth it. Just take your time and don’t rush it! Also remember that with big cardboard box projects like this, the result doesn’t have to be perfect. Your children will love whatever you make.

I adore that this Princess Carriage was designed to fit around the little girl’s table. How perfectly cute is that? Simply magical!

You can add as many details as you like. I love that this Cardboard Princess Carriage comes complte with Unicorn (not just any old carriage horse) and crown!. So cute.

This would make a great photo prop at any Princess Party or could be a great porch decoration too (maybe make a Pumpkin version for Halloween?!).
