Christmas Crafts: Pom Pom Pinecone Trees

December 21, 2012

I first spotted these oh so cute Pom Pom Pinecone Trees many moons ago. I thought they were totally adorable and great for kids. Then I half forgot about them, until I saw them again on Rainy Day Mum’s blog and thought “a perfect Christmas Craft for our Christmas playdate coming up”. So today, we finally made our very own Pom Pom Pinecones. Aren’t they lovely? SOOOO vert tactile (and what contrasting textures – the soft pom pom and the smooth and yet bumpy pinecone). Perfect pinecone Craft in time for Christmas.

Materials for your Pom Pom Pinecone Trees

Rather simply: a pinecone, mini pom poms, PVA glue and string for hanging

Making your Pom Pom Pinecone Trees

We made these with 5 children. Gave each a little dish of PVA glue and a hand full of pom poms and they simply dipped and stuck. We encouraged them to really “wedge” the pom poms into the pinceones.

Then we tied on some ribbons/ bakers twine and let dry.

I love how totally adorable and colourful these Pom Pom Pinecone Trees are. A great addition to our obsession with Homemade Christmas Ornament!
