The Christmas lyrics, Baby, it’s warm inside …. still rings true. This past weekend, we warmed the house and were busy cutting and and creating our first Valentine’s Decorations – take a peak at our Hugs & Kisses Valentines Garland – designed especially for this lovely 31 Days of Love Series!!!
Continue below with us fill your house with X’s and O’s, too!
Such a sweet and simple way to make a paper Valentines Garland
X’s and O’s are right to the point and feel so Scandinavian-simple in their shapes which is why they’re our entry point this year. We’ve had a lot fun making these and gift the house a great lift.
I look forward to seeing what you do with yours, too.
Easy Valentines Garland – This is what you’ll need:
MATERIALS
- Colored Paper or Paper that you’ve painted or embellished in some way:
- Cutting tool
- Tape (Or stapler, if you prefer)
- X and O template (Optional)
Easy Valentines Garland How To:
Step 1: Decide how tall you would like the X’s and O’s to be.
Step 2. Cut one-X shape and one-O shape for templates.
These should be the same height.
Step 3. Cut X’s on a folded piece of paper
Step 4. Cut O’s, the same height, from a single sheet of paper.
(note: Cut equal number x’s and o’s, if you would like to make a chain like we’ve made.)
Step 5. Once you have cut the X’s and O’s, it is time to interlock them.
To do so, slip the X, into the inner ring of the O
The fold of the x will be inside the inner circle area and the outer point of the x will go into the next inner circle. Tape or staple the open leg of the x, in the inner circle.
Step 6. Decorate!
Wishes for many X and O days ahead! I really love the simplicity of these but by embellishing or changing the paper there are limitless ways for you to make these your own. In fact, I’d love to see this some jumbo or miniature sized, as well. If you use this tutorial, I’d love to see what you do!
