From Phone to Print in Minutes

April 26, 2013

Are you like me? You take 100s of photos on your phone? I LOOOOVE using instagram and you keenly show your photos to friends? But then never actually get round to doing anything with all those photos? Somehow they get missed off being put in photo albums or used for special projects?

Yes? Well.. if you love smartphone photos and instagram, then you really must give the Kodak Kiosk (and the associated Kodak app) a go. It is a super fast way to get your photos from Phone to Print.

I went to one our local stores today to give it a go. The process is indeed simple!

It is as easy as 1, 2, 3:

1) Select as many photos as you want to work on in the Kodak Kiosk App (best to add “more than less”, so you have all the photos you need on hand, you don’t have to use them all).

2) Select the WiFi option of the in store Kodak Kiosk and connectย your phone (if you are on android phone, you can do this even more quickly via the scanning codes)

3) Work on your project. DONE! The main project options were – Greeting Cards, Collages, Calendars, regular Photos and Photo Books.

If you have ever used Kodak online to create projects and print them out, this follows a similar principle – you choose the sort of project you want to do – from simple photo, to photo calendar, greeting cards or photo books and then have a HUGE choice of templates etc to select from and make the design really yours.

InstagramI am REALLY kicking myself, that I recently transferred a WHOLE bunch of instagram photos to my desktop, in order to increase the available memory on my phone. I would LOVE to make a little photo book or calendar using my instagram photos next. I reckon it would be a REALLY fun way to record a family holiday. And a lovely way to actually “do something” with all those great instagram pics!

I have to confess, I didn’t realise quite how many options you have and if I had known before hand, I would have had all sorts of project ideas in my head … for now I printed out a simple collage (which took barely a minute or two to make) and a greeting card for Granny – which you can personalise inside and out, as well as set of photos of our growing tadpole projects for my son’s school class.

I went for simple this time. But NEXT time, I would love to use the Birthday Invite project (what a great idea to design your own invites and print

This is one of my favourite photos of the kids together – I took it 2 years ago and never got round to “Printing it off”.. finally, ย I did!

A little collage of favourite photos – as mentioned above, the one of the kids together from 2 years ago. An adorable one of Pip Squeak from last Easter (which I also never printed off) and one of my favourite instagram pictures of Red Ted (which I had NOT removed yet, as I took it a few days ago). Lovely.

A set of our tadpol project photos for school – I thought “whilst we are there, why not?”. School will be happy as they are currently doing the “life cycle” and “growing things”, so this will fit nicely with their curriculum!

Don’t forget to check out the FANTASTIC photo competition, visit Kodak’s FB page for more information – where you get the chance to win one of FOUR ipads. Very cool indeed.
