How to make a horse card with Kids
As ever we have a lovely little how to video on auto play – or you can follow the step by step instructions below!
Now over to the photo steps!
Step by Step Photo instructions

Cut the horse shapes
Cut out a basic horse shape. The hrose head and body can be about as “tall” as your greeting card. This gives you a nice amount of space – once you have folded down the head – to decorate the card with other extras.
Think of the horse as an oval or egg, sitting on another thinner oval and then shape it a little.
The ears are like little tear drops.

Shape the horse’s head
Fold the head down to give the 3d effect.
Glue the ears in place.

Cut out the extra shapes for your card
Here we cut out a little horse forelock. And a tree for the background (yes our tree “floats”… hahahaha). As well some strips of white to make a fence for the paddock.
If making a Year of the Horse card you may wish to cut out some Chinese Lanterns in different colors.

Assemble the card
Time to assemble the card – glue the forelock in place.
Then add your decorative trees/ bushes. Add two strips horizontally to start building the paddock fence.

Add the fence posts.
With a pen add a muzzle and detail to the horse’s ears.

Finally add the horse’s eyes and nostrils. And you can add any other detail such as fruit into the tree or birds in the sky! Have fun with your decor!

As mentioned this works really well as a year of the horse card too, don’t you think? Isn’t it cute with the simple lanterns?
