Fantasty Crochet Creatures by Kensy Davis

Fantasy Crochet Creatures is a gorgeous book of 28 Easy Patterns – it is party of the super fluffy chenille yarn trend and makes the most adorable soft and squishy crochet pals!

The theme (in case you hadn’t guessed) is FANTASY CREATURES – so you will find all sorts of wonderful creations, from the amazing phoenix to (maybe my favourite?) Yeti. There are plenty of dragons and mermaids too. Lots to choose from.

I so pleased to be able to share the super cute Mushroom Sprite! Mushies are super popular at craft fairs, so I think this sweet little guy is well worth having a go at!

Why you need to get this crochet book!

I have been lucky enough to have a really good browse of this book and check out all the adorable patterns. I think this is a really gorgeous book if you love making huggable plushies.

  • The patterns are super cute and super “huggable” – with nice round tummies for extra squishing fun
  • These are actually relatively quick makes – most of the bodies require only 26 rows of crochet – if you have crochet much before – you will know that that really isn’t a lot! So the patterns will work up quickly. You will need to do a little sewing however – but I ALWAYS encourage to embrace sewing, as it really is a big part of crochet and upping your crochet skills!
  • Each pattern tells you what level it is – from 1 – 3. Having had a good look through the book, I think even a “3” is suitable for most crocheters – especially if you have had a go at some of the other patterns first and get used to Kensey’s patterns. A 3 usually means more colour changes and maybe a couple of speciality stitches – basically – making bulky bobbles (explained in the book) and doing HDC increase etc. I know you can do this! Just take your time and give yourself a chance to learn and grow!

Murphy the Mushroom Sprite
