What can you use your crochet star for?

I love this little crochet star pattern, as it works up quickly and easily and can be made out of any yarn scraps that you may have. It works really well as a crochet star applique and therefore has many uses. Here are some star ideas for you:

  • Simply use it as a Christmas Tree ornament
  • Add your little star to a plush toy – e.g. a crochet bear with a big star tummy would be adorable
  • Turn it into a pin to wear – glue on a little felt face – eyes and moth to make this a little kawaii star and add a safety pin to the back
  • Make these crochet stars your Christmas holiday card – bonus – make the star detachable and people and it the stars to their Christmas trees
  • Make a whole set and turn them into an adorable crochet star garland
  • Use your star to decorate a gift (again make the star detachable for further use)
  • Play with the colours and make a set of red, white and blue stars for the fourth of July and turn them into a cute garland.

To make your crochet stars you will need:

  • Yarn in chosen star colours! Yellow of course is a classic for Christmas, but all yarn is lovely!
  • Corresponding yarn weight crochet hook size – I often find that for acrylic yarns you want to downsize your hook by 1-2 sizes. Cotton and plush yarns are usually accurate
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • Optional: decorative bead if you wish!
