Materials for the Amigurumi Lemon

Finished Size of Lemon

10cm (4in) tall by 6cm (21/2in) wide

Gauge

5 sc sts and 6 rows = 2.5cm (1in)

Crochet Abbreviations

U.S. Crochet abbreviations are used throughout this pattern! You can revisit tutorials for all these basic crochet stitches here!

R = Round
Sc = Single Crochet
St = Stitch
Sc2tog = Single Crochet 2 Together
FLO = Front Loop Only
Ch = Chain
Dd = Double Crochet
Hdc = Half Double Crochet
Sl st = Slip Stitch

You will also need to do a magic cricle and an invisible fasten off (learn how to invisible fasten off for the “cheeks” made here).

How to Crochet a Kawaii LEMON

Beginning at the bottom of the lemon:

R1: with yellow yarn, sc 6 in magic ring [6]
R2: 2 sc in each st around [12]
R3: sc in each st around [12]
R4: (sc 1, 2 sc in next st) 6 times [18]
R5: (sc 2, 2 sc in next st) 6 times [24]
R6: (sc 3, 2 sc in next st) 6 times [30]
R7: (sc 4, 2 sc in next st) 6 times [36]
R8-16: sc in each st around [36]

Place eyes between R10 and R11 with 3 sts in between. Begin to stuff with fiberfill.

R17: (sc 4, sc2tog) 6 times [30]
R18: (sc 3, sc2tog) 6 times [24]
R19: (sc 2, sc2tog) 6 times [18]
R20: sc in each st around [18]
R21: (sc 1, sc2tog) 6 times [12]
R22-23: sc in each st around [12]
R24: (sc2tog) 6 times [6]

Finish stuffing. Fasten off and, weave the tail through FLO to close the opening. Weave in all ends. Add stitches for the mouth and cheeks using black and green yarn.

Small Crochet LEAF

With green yarn, ch 10.

R1: sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc 1, hdc 1, dc 4, hdc 1, sc 3 in last st, working on the other side of the foundation ch, hdc 1, dc 4, hdc 1, sc 1, sl st 1, sl st in beginning skipped ch st.

Invisible fasten off and weave in all ends. Attach to the top front of the lemon. (See how to invisible fasten off on this project – scroll down to the rosy cheeks).
