How to make paper masquerade masks with Kids

Shape your paper masks
Fold a piece of craft paper in half.
Think about what you want the mask to look like. Do you want it to be boxy or round? You might like to include ears or hair at the top.
Whatever you decide, draw half of your mask outline with a pencil. The fold of the paper will be the middle of the mask, along your nose.
Next, draw a shape close to the fold for the eye holes.
Carefully cut along the pencil lines to create the mask base.

Decorate your masquerade mask – be creative!
Now comes the fun part! Unfold the mask and unleash your creativity by decorating the mask with crayons.
Create and draw whatever you want!
Add colors, patterns and designs to make the mask uniquely yours.
For an extra touch of creativity, glue construction paper shapes and stick pieces of washi tape to your mask to add details.
Add the mask ribbon or elastic
When you are happy with how your mask looks, use a hole punch and create a hole on either side of the mask.
Cut a piece of string or ribbon, and slip it through one of the holes. Tie a knot to secure the string in place so it won’t fall off.
Repeat this step on the other side of the mask, making sure the mask fits around your head.
Now you are ready to let your imagination run wild, acting out scenes or simply enjoying being in character with your new mask. You could make several masks and invite others into your imaginary world.
Tell a story about your mask character. What adventures would you go on?
