Tip of the Day:  When crafting with young children or “many” children, I often get the “first step” ready for them – it is sometimes helpful to cut out basic items BEFORE your craft session for the children, so they can start straight away.

For example on our Gingerbread Men cards, the cards were all ready for them to paint. Whilst they were painting, I cut out Gingerbread Paper Chains and more cards. The kids got sticking and decorating. Later my eldest wanted a go at cutting himself.

To see Day 3 of the countdown as well as a new holiday crafting tip be sure to visit Creative with Kids tomorrow!

Will you having a go at these lovely Christmas ornaments today? Would love to hear how your session goes. Do come back and tell us all about it!

  1. What a great tip – something that I try and remember to do the night before as neither of mine have got any patience at all

  2. Red Ted Art says:

Yes, mine get so fidgety if I say “let’s craft” and then we can’t get started straight away. Or they fight over who gets to go first!!

  3. Great tip Maggy…I should do that. We’ve usually descending into chas before the first step is done. I definitely need our activities to be more organised!

  4. Sorry for typos, spelling above :-)

  5. Red Ted Art says:

Oh you know me and typos!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

  7. You are so right. Things go so much more smoothly when I do the first step.
