We have shared some of these lovely 4th July Preschool activities before! But sometimes things get “lost” when you have so many resources availabe. So just in case.. I am highlighting these lovely toddler, kindergartener and preschooler activities again – they are perfect ofr Independence Day, Memorial Day or Flag day!

Let’s begin with some super easy patriotic activities for preschoolers and toddlers. Nice and easy crafts that they will enjoy getting involved with and that helps you teach about these wonderful celebrations – be it Flag Day, Memorial Day or the 4th of July! As mentioned these are great set of crafts to make on Independance Day and to celebrate America with young kids. Lots of stars and stripes and red, white and blue of course. These fourth of july activities are suitable for kids from Kindergarten through to preschool.

If you are looking for preschool lesson plans and additional activities, I am sure you will enjoy some of the projects shared here today. This activities can be used in first grade too. I am sure kids of all ages will enjoy them too.

Patriotic Crafts for Preschoolers to make on Independence Day

These Easy 4th July Cookies are some of our favourite cookies ever. We used our favourite no egg sugar cookie recipe to make them, however you can use plain store bought cookies too for “speed”.. making these a great fun activity at a 4th July Party or play date!

Similarly -we have a cookie painting technique that we used to make some Union Jack Flags – which you may also want to give a go!

One of our printable activities for you have a go at, is this set of super fun Paper Lanterns for 4th July! These would make great garden garlands or choose the “colour you own” downloads and keep the kids busy for ages! They are great for young children to practice some scissor cutting skills. Only a few straight lines are needed! One of these fourth of july printables is free for you to download, so no purchases necessary!

Simple Stars Headband to make and wear for 4th July celebrations. These are a perfect accessory if you are heading out to see any of the Fourth of July parades or even taking part in your own.

Finished Large Flag Art Project

One for the whole family – a collaborative Jasper Johns Flag Art Project/ craft activity! This is a great one to do in the classroom or as a family. Kids can grab some paint brushes, get painting… or use tissue paper to add details to their stars and stripes – great for fine motor skills of scrunching up that tissue paper paper and concentration skills, to put them all in the right place.

Adorable Handprint Flag Day Craft for Preschool by Happy Craft on YouTube is a must for any fourth of July crafts collection! These are wonderful for Memorial Day too! A wonderful way to create a keepsake from those little hands.

Fireworks inspired crafts for Preschoolers

We also have a lovely set of firework inspired crafts, that you could give a go with preschoolers. Especially if you choose to switch out some of the colours to make them red, white and blue fireworks! Always a winner!

Paper Roll Fireworks for New Year's Eve

What a cracker – make some wonderful firework blowers!

These star shaped bubble wands are perfect for little ones, that don’t want all the noise but still want to celebrate! Again, this would be easily adapted to the red white and blue theme too by simply using different colors! Use star shaped cookie cutters to shape your wand. Adding the beads to your wands is a wonderful way to develop those fine motor skills. If going with the red, white and blue theme, you can also add some squencing of colors skills! So much fun to be had!
