Free Pigs in Blanket Knitting Pattern
Come make a lovely Pigs in Blanket knitted Christmas Ornament with us today! We made a cute Pigs in Blanket for crocheters.. and the internet screamed CAN WE HAVE A KNITTED one. So I asked the lovely Jenny Church if she could make one.. and (though she is very busy with Christmas like the rest of us!!!) she DID! Look at this adorable Knitted Piggy Ornament? Isn’t it fantastic! Clever Jenny!

Abbreviations
Seed stitch/Moss stitch:
- Row 1 and all odd rows – K1,P1,K1,P1 (Repeat for all stitches)
- Row 2 and all even rows – P1,K1, P1, K1 (Repeat for all stitches)
Stocking Stitch: K-Knit, P – Purl, StSt – Stocking stitch (knit 1 row purl 1 row)
- KFB – Knit front and back
K2Tog – Knit 2 together
P2Tog – Purl 2 together - B&T – break yarn and pull through stitches to bind off
- YO – Yarn Over,
- Sl – Slip stitch,
- PSSO – Pass slipped stitch over

Making up Pig
Sew up the seams of the pig body leaving a gap for stuffing, embroider on nostrils and add safety eyes before closing seam. Sew up each leg seam leaving cast on edge open stu? each
leg a little (position the legs and attach using pins ensure position correct for blanket and the legs fit in the holes before you sew in place.
Using cast on or cast of thread of the tail draw through length of tail and pull tight to achieve “curl” attach to body of the pig. Sew the ears in place using the cast on thread.

Cast on 32 stitches in Red

Change to Green - Moss Stitch
- Moss stitch
- K1, [K2tog,YO] to last stitch, K1
Change to Red - Knit
- Knit
Cast off
Making up Blanket
Sew up the row ends and sew in all yarn ends. The YO stiches in row 3 create the leg holes Note: you may need to stretch them a little bit to get legs in first time but then should be easy to change the blankets if you knit a different one.
