Amigurumi Sushi Knitting Pattern
The Food Knitting Pattern fun with Jenny Church continues! Jenny has wowed the internet with her adorable Free Teabag Knitting pattern and is now back with more knitted Amigurumi fun. Because yes.. there are a ton of fabulous amigurumi crochet projects out there, but we most certainly need some more knitting patterns too! Hurrah for Jenny! Today, we explore the world of knitted sushi patterns (after I shared some Sushi Crochet recently)!

Abbreviations used in this knitting project
- Seed stitch/Moss stitch: Row 1 and all odd rows – K1,P1,K1,P1 (Repeat for all stitches) and then Row 2 and all even rows – P1,K1, P1, K1 (Repeat for all stitches)
- K-Knit,
- P – Purl,
- KFB – Knit front and back,
- K2Tog – Knit 2 together,
- P2Tog – Purl 2 together,
- B&T – break yarn and pull through stitches to bind off.
Supplies used
- Using 3mm needles
- DK yarn throughout in desired yarn colours
- Needle for sewing (the maki filling and mouth)
- Safety eyes

Start with the Sushi Roll
Cast on 8 stitches in white

Change to black
- K2Tog,K2 (24)
Change to salmon pink
- P

Making up the Amigurumi Sushi Roll
Sew up the seams of the top of the sushi, embroider on other features for example green cucumber or avocado, use French knots to make little balls etc.
French Knot video:
Sew up bottom seams and leave small opening on side seam to stuff and add safety eyes (approx. size 6mm) sew on smile (embroidery eyes can also be added instead), finish stu?ing
and sew up all seams.
Additional stitches can be used to help with shaping for example sewing between top and bottom layer can pull in top give better shape.

Knit the little Feet (make 2)
Cast on 8 stitches in mid brown
- Purl
- K2Tog x 4 (4)
- P2Tog x2 (2)
- Knit
- Purl
Cast off
To make up the final sushi with legs
Gather cast on stitches with cast on yarn and then sew up row ends.
