Easy Teabag Knitting Pattern with Legs

Well!! As many of you know, my daughter crochets, whilst I am the knitter in the household.. the main reason? Because there are SOOOOO many cute crochet projects out there, with significantly less knitting patterns that are “cute” in a teenagers eyes. Well. I am on a mission to to find all the cutest knitting patterns out there.. and today, I have one of these for you – the most adorable Teabag with Legs Knitting Pattern, by the amazing Jenny Church!

Supplies needed for you Teabag with Legs Knitting Project:

  • DK Yarn in desired colors
  • 2.25mm needles
  • Safety eyes and thread for mouth

How to knit a teabag with legs

Teabag by Jenny Church

Seed stitch how to

This little tea bag uses the seed stitch, which is created as follows:

Row 1 and all odd rows – K1,P1,K1,P1 (Repeat for all stitches)
Row 2 and all even rows – P1,K1, P1, K1 (Repeat for all stitches)

Front Back and sides (make 2)

Cast on 16 stitches in light brown
Rows 1-18 seed stitch all rows

Change to dark brown
Rows 19-26 seed stitch all rows

Cast off knitwise

Add safety eyes and sew on a mouth to one half.

Bottom piece

Cast on 12 stitches in dark brown
Rows 1-6 seed stitch all rows

Cast off knitwise

The Teabag Tag

Cast on 8 stitches in teal/turquoise
Rows 1-16 Stocking stitch

Cast off knitwise

The Teabag’s Feet (make 2)

Cast on 8 stitches in mid brown
Row 1 Purl
Row 2 K2Tog x 4
Row 3 P2Tog x2
Row 4 Knit
Row 5 Purl

Cast off knitwise

Assembly

Sew your teabag body parts together and add the feet.

Sew on a little mouth.

Connect the teabag label with a piece of yarn to the top of your teabag body!
