To Sew or not to Sew – Crochet Pattern Conundrum
This pattern does require a little sewing! BUT as mentioned in some of our patterns before. Though there is an increasing trend for people to try and make “no sew” projects only, we strongly encourage you to embrace sewing as part of your crochet journey.
Here is why sewing crochet projects are “good”:
- Most no sew projects, still require you to “sew in” loose ends
- Sewing is a life skill – don’t shy away from it!
- You will find that you can access SO MANY more fantastic (free) crochet patterns, if you are willing to sew. Focusing on “no sew” only, limits what you can crochet.
- No sew projects of require specialist crochet stitches (e.g. the bobble stitch is popular for making paws, legs and arms) – though it is great to learn these stitches, sometimes, beginners will find it easier to sew instead
- Sewing on features is a great way to personalise your crochet pattern – often you can play around with the positioning of the legs or ears to create your own unique characters!
