Chestnut Crafts for Kids – Conker Faces
We have may Chestnut Crafts for you that we have made over the years. Chestnut Crafts for Kids is what Autumn is all about for me! Every year, we cannot resist picking up those wonderfully shiny brown Autumn nature finds. I think collecting is actually most of the fun. Though they are wonderfully tactile too. We love “playing conkers” and I particularly love Chestnuts Snakes – tactile, fun and a great learning tool too! Today, we kept it simple. Pip Squeak had a friend over to play and we had an impromptu craft session and make some quirky little conker faces. So quick and easy to make but both girls had a hilarious time doing so!
Chestnut Crafts for Kids – Conker Faces – Materials:
- Conkers (woohoo)
- Conker shells if you have any nice ones
- Pens (we used sharpies)
- Wool (optional)
- A little glue (we used good PVA glue)
Chestnut Crafts for Kids – Conker Faces – What to Do:
It really is very easy.. and quite straight forward – keep it simple and just have fun.
We found it easiest to draw on the “white” parts of the conkers.. to turn these into the Conker Faces. Using our different coloured pens.
Then cut some strands of wool (tie them at the centre with some extra wool if you wish) and simply glue to the top of the conker face head.
Now if you wish.. add lots of glue to the inside of your conker shell and pop on top of your conker faces as hat!
Ta da… isn’t this one of the cutest Chestnut Crafts for Kids?
