Let’s take a look at some Creative Chocolate Gifts for teachers, friends and family. More specifically, today, I share a super quick and easy creative way to gift terrys chocolate orange! Make a quick little Reindeer Chocolate Orange. A great eco friendly gift for kids to make for teachers and friends. This is a great alternative to knitting or crocheting Chocolate Orange Covers!

Supplies needed to make your chocolate reindeer:
- A Terry’s Chocolate Orange (buy them early when they are on special offer!)
- Brown packing pager (we recycled amazon parcel packing)
- Paper scraps for the rudolph’s antlers, eyes, nose and rosy cheeks
- Scissors & glue stick
- You may want to use a little tape too
I love this as an alternative to knitted chocolate orange covers, as I always feel the knitted chocolate orange covers often only get used once and then forgotten. So this eco friendly paper chocolate only gift wrap is just the thing!
How to make your reindeer chocolate orange
Making your Terry’s Chocolate Orange Reindeer only takes 4-5minutes.. you can even set up a quick little production line and make a whole stack of them for teacher’s or friends!
Gather your supplies. Work with what you have… don’t go and buy anything. If you don’t have coloured paper – you can use scrap pieces of white printer paper and felt tip pens to decorate.
Start of with your brown paper. As mentioned, I used amazon packaging. Don’t make the square too big, else you will have too much paper to try and get around your Terry’s Chocolate orange. Use my photo as guidance.. but you can also cut it down a little if you find that easier.
I kind of wrapped/ folded the paper as I want round. You can’t just “squish” it around the chocolate orange, esle you will end up with a big bobble of paper at the bottom. By folding it, you can then tape down the paper if you wish. I actually found that mine “held in place” as is and needed no tape! But you may wish to secure it!
Grab you paper scraps and prepare your rudolph features!
I cut out:
- Some reindeer antlers in brown paper (make these a little longer than you think, as you will need a little “tab” to glue)
- Reindeer ears from my brown packaging paper (these also need to be a little longer)
- Drew some eyes
- A large red nose (which as you can see below I later changed)
- Rosy cheeks
- Later added a “reindeer muzzle” in brown packaging paper with a black pen outline
I simply glued on the eyes, nose and cheeks. As you can see, I changed “my design” whilst doing as wasn’t so keen on the large nose and mouth. Really, it is a chance for you to PLAY! Once you have a design YOU like best, you can make a little production line of these reindeer chocolate oranges and make lots quickly and easily!
You can see I attached the ears and antlers by making a small fold and sticking it down.
Your little reindeer chocolate orange ball is finished! Isn’t it fun?
What I really like about decorating your chocolate in this way, is that it is 100% recyclable/ eco friendly, as we only used paper. I often see chocolate decorated with pipecleaner antlers and googly eyes etc, and I always feel a little sad for those brown pipecleaners going straight in the bin! I like that you can make something just as cute, using just paper!
