How to make a Flower Granny Square
Begin with your magic ring and learn to make a bubble stitch
Step 1: Select a yarn for the center of the flower. Make a magic ring and chain 2.
Step 2: Work a double crochet into the magic ring.
Step 3: Repeat double crochet 14 times into the MR. There should be a total of 15 DC in the magic ring.
Step 4: Insert the hook into the very first DC, then work a slip-stitch
Step 5: Work 2 chains on the hook.
Step 6: Now yarn over, and insert the hook into the same stitch. Pull the yarn through the same stitch without working any stitches.
Step 7: Repeat it 2 times and you should have 7 loops on your hook.
Step 8: Now grab the yarn and pull it through all the loops. This stitch is called a bubble.
Step 9: Chain 1.
Step 10: Work another bubble into the next stitch of the previous row. Repeat it until you have 16 bubbles in the current row.
Step 11: Insert the hook between the first chain 2 and the first bubble stitch.
Step 12: Grab the yarn, make a slip-stitch, and cut off the yarn.
Add a new color to your Granny Square
Step 13: Add new yarn.
Step 14: Chain 2.
Step 15: Yarn over and pull it through the same stitch. Grab the yarn and pull up, now you have 3 loops on your hook. Now grab the yarn and pull through the first 2 loops. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
Step 16: Repeat this 3 times and you should have 5 loops on the hook.
Step 17: Now grab the yarn and pull it through all the 5 loops.
Step 18: Work 2 chains on the hook.
Step 19: Repeat the previous stitch pattern 15 times for this row. You should have 16 bubble stitches at the end of this round.
Step 20: Insert the hook between the first 2 bubble stitch and work a slip stitch.
Add another yarn color to your Granny Square
Step 21: Add new yarn through a gap between any 2 bubble stitches of the last round.
Step 22: Chain 4.
Step 23: Work 2 treble crochet through the same stitch.
Step 24: Chain 3.
Step 25: Again work 3 treble crochet into the same stitch. The first corner of our granny square is done.
Step 26: Work 3 DC into the next stitch.
Step 27: Again work 3 DC crochet into the next 2 stitches.
Step 28: Repeat the corner stitch pattern into the next stitch (the 5th).
Step 29: Repeat the 3 DC into the next 3 stitches and corner stitch pattern in the 4th until the 4 sides of the granny square are covered.
Step 30: Insert the hook between the first chain 4 and the first treble stitch and make a slip-stitch. Cut off extra yarn and tuck the remaining yarn on the backside of the crochet pattern to secure the ending.
