Yes it is that time of year again, when we need to start planning all those little gifts to give during the holiday season. In particularly some fun Teacher’s Gifts that are not too expensive and also useful or maybe a quirky and budget friendly secret Santa Gift? Here is a great Sock & Choc Snowman Gift Idea for Teachers or anyone else….. a handy chocolate treat with a lovely pair of new socks too! We have made Santa Sleighs before.. but love the Sock & Choc idea as an alternative!

Choc & Socks for Christmas

This photo and idea is kindly shared by Anneka from FB who originally made these these fabulously simple Choc & Socks Snowman Gifts for Teachers!

Sock Gift and Chocolate Gift in One

What I love ESPECIALLY about these snowman chocolates, is that there is very little waste.. as you know, there are MANY ways to dress up a chocolate bar as a snowman, but I love that this one is 2 gifts in one – you get a lovely new pair of socks AND a bar of chocolate! No need to cut up expensive felt (that only gets thrown away).. a great way to give a relatively “normal” gift of socks!

To make this chocolate based Teacher’s Gift, you will need:

  • a medium or large bar of chocolate
  • some white printer paper
  • pens to decorate
  • tape to secure
  • a pair of new socks to gift (TK Maxx is great if you are on a budget – or get cute multi packs and divide them up among the teacher’s gifts)
  • wire tire/ embroidery thread or small elastic to help secure your socks to your snowmen

To make you Sock & Choc Snowman Gift:

Kids of all ages will LOVE to help make these Teacher’s Christmas Gifts.

Make the snowman chocolate bar

Begin by taking a regular piece of printer paper and getting the kids to draw a happy snowman face right in the middle. You MAY wish to outline the chocolate bar in light pencil strokes first, so you can centre it the face well. But it shouldn’t be too difficult to get it right!

Then wrap the bar of chocolate in your decorated piece of paper – making sure your snowman face is nicely in the middle.

Add the sock gift as hat and scarf

Next you need to separate your socks carefully.

Take one sock and roll up the end a little and pop it over the top end of your snowman chocolate bar. Then secure the top with a little embroidery twine or wire or similar to make a “bobble” into your sock hat.

Next, fold the sock in half length wise. Then fold around the bottom as a scarf scarf – secure at the back with some wire tie or embroidery floss. A pipecleaner could also work.

And done!

Your super quick and relatively inexpensive Sock & Chocolate Snowman Gift for Teacher’s is finished! So cute!

Here are two more ways to gift chocolate – you can quickly and easily decorate an old jar as a snowman to fill with treats or make some of the fabulous nad popular Santa Sleighs.

Happy Holiday Gift Making!
