DIY Beano Pop Up Card Printable

March 1, 2019

Another month.. another birthday!! This time it is Red Ted’s 11th Birthday. My how quickly they grow up!! As Pip Squeak got a last minute Panda Pop Up Card, I thought I should really make Red Ted’s card too. We love Pop Up Card Projects – they are so fun and easy to make.. so decided another Pop Up Card was needed. Red Ted is really into The Beano at the moment. It is the second year that he is reading his subscription.. and each week BOTH kids eagerly await the Beano magazine’s arrival. So I thought a DIY Beano Pop Up Card with printable would be just the ticket. And whilst I am at it, why not share the resource I created with you? Right?

I am hoping that this Beano Pop Up Card, will join a DIY Beano Cake later in the week (not just ANY Beano Cake.. but a BEANO SURPRISE CAKE.. wish me luck!!!).

But in the meantime.. if you know someone that loves the Beano.. why not make them a simple Beano Pop Up Card too!

Begin by printing out your free Beano Pop Up Printable. There are lots of extra bits for you to choose from and customise your Pop Up Birthday Card.

Time for prepping the “pop up” part of your card. Cut a piece of paper or light card that is slightly smaller than your birthday card.

Fold this light card in half.

Mark out your pop ups. I decided to make Dennis the Menance a bit further back (so mark 2 x 1cm lines) and Gnasher to go a bit further forward (so mark 2 x 2cm lines).

Make the cuts an fold up to make a crease.

Fold the creases back in place.

Open the card and pull the creases into the reverse direction.

You now have your pop up position ready.

Cut out all your beano shapes that you want to use on both the front of your card and the inside. Leave a white rim – it will look nice and is easier to cut!

Glue them all in place.

Finally, glue the “inside” of your card in place.. and done!
