Let’s get started!
6 in 1 Easter Egg Activity – How to use these Egg Printables
As indicated, there lots of great ways you can use this Easter Egg activity:
- Colours & Shapes: Colouring Pages (use the “full” eggs) – a great time to discuss (primary) colours and shapes.
- Mirroring or Tracing: Practice tracing/ mirror drawing – a set of semi completed eggs is included for kids to practice their tracing skills. Choose from the mirror (older kids) or the tracing (preschoolers) options.
- Play (Cognitive): Use your finished eggs to practice matching.
- Play (Memory): Use your finished eggs to play Egg memory matching (you may want to use less colours per egg to make this easier).
- Decor: Make 3d Easter Egg ornaments using either the full egg printables or the trace and color ones.
- Decor: Use your lovely eggs as window decorations, bulletin board decor or combine them into an Easter egg garland.
Isn’t this fun?

Step 1: Tracing, mirroring, create own designs, work in pairs

Four types of Easter Egg templates are available:
- Tracing with dotted line support for the youngest
- Mirroring the illustrated design on the left hand side of the egg to the right hand side without further visual support
- As full coloring page to simply enjoy coloring in the Easter egg design
- Blank Easter eggs with dotted middle folding line to create own designs or work in pairs: Each create a pattern on the left hand side, then exchange eggs and mirror the other students design on the right hand side of the egg.

Step 2: Time to colour in your Easter Eggs

After tracing, mirroring and creating your own Easter Egg designs we will now colour in the Easter Eggs.
You can do this using pens, pencils, paints.. anything you wish! Why not discuss some of the shapes whilst colouring! Can you see some triangles and some circles?
Step 3: Cutting out the Easter Egg shape
Cut out the Easter Egg shapes and cut in half along the dotted line in the middle of the Easter Egg. You might also want to glue on card stock to make the cards longer lasting especially if using as a DIY Memory Easter Egg game.

Step 4: Playing Memory or Mix&Match
The half Easter egg shapes offer a fun opportunity to play memory and mix-and-match games, enhancing cognitive skills while adding a playful twist to the activity.
Now you can play either traditional Memory or the Mix and Match Game. For the Memory Game – you can print out more of the eggs and paint them in more colours. Or maybe even print directly onto coloured paper and just add a few details.

Step 5: Make a 3D Easter Egg Ornament
The 3D Easter Egg ornament makes a beautiful keepsake of all the hard work put into this craft.

Follow steps 1-3, but instead of cutting the Easter eggs in half, fold them in half. Then, using adhesive, glue one folded half to the next, attaching them together until the project is complete. When halfway done add a string and attach to the middle of the egg. (If you are after a little more info, or want to try a smaller sized 3d Egg Ornament, take a peak here).
And DONE! What a fun printable with such a variety of learning options.
Of course the Easter egg printables also look gorgeous as bulletin board decorations, garlands or window decorations:

As always, a very big thank you to our sponsors at Learning Resources!
