How to use your Bunny Emotions Printable

This SEL Bunny Printable, goes really well with any bravery themes book, which you may choose to read first. In particularly, the craft was inspired by the book A Little Bit Brave by Nicola Kinnear! Though there are a number of wonderful Brave Little Bunny themed picture books you can check out.

Print the Bunny Template:

Begin by printing out the bunny template, which includes a head, feet, and a circle with dividers for writing. This template is a fantastic emotions craft for preschoolers as it helps kids engage with their emotions in a visual and fun way.

Color the Bunny:

Let the child color in the bunny’s head, feet, and the circle. Encourage them to make the bunny as colorful as they like, using crayons, markers, or colored pencils. This step allows them to be creative and make the craft their own!

Write About Fears:

On the circle with dividers, ask the child to write or dictate something they are scared of. Whether it’s “I’m scared of the dark” or “I’m scared of loud noises,” this step helps them identify their fears, which is an important part of emotional development. It’s a great way to incorporate emotions activities for preschoolers into your day.

Brainstorm Ways to Be Brave:

Inside each divider, guide the child to think of one way they can overcome their fear. For example, if the fear is the dark, they might write “use a nightlight” or “imagine a happy place.” This activity teaches children how to cope with their emotions and gives them the tools to manage their fears.

assemble the writing

Assemble the Craft:

Once everything is colored and written, carefully cut out the bunny’s head, feet, and the circle. Attach the head to the top of the circle using glue or tape, and the feet to the bottom. For a fun twist, use a small brad or paper fastener in the center of the circle to create a bouncy effect. This interactive feature makes it an even more exciting emotions craft for preschoolers!

add your name to the bunny printable

Decorate and personalise with your name

If desired, add stickers, glitter, or other decorative items to personalize the craft further.
