Super Easy Handprint Skeleton Craft for Preschoolers
Welcome back to some spooky Halloween Preschool Activities. Today I have a guest post by the wonderful Studio Rosie… she made this fantasticly spooky Halloween Sensory Bin.. with.. wait for for it… your toddler’s handprint skeleton hands!! That’s right, with just a bit of paper, your toddlers or preschooler’s handprint, you can make these wonderfully spooky skeleton hand decorations.

Don’t these skeleton hands look amazing? Crazy to think that all you need to make the paper skeleton hands is some white printer paper, a hand to outline and some scissors! So clever.. and such a fun item to combine into a Halloween Sensory Tray or to use as some spooky halloween decorations… Paper Halloween Crafts really are the best!
But before we go into the whole Halloween Craft activity.. pop over to Studio Rosie and give her a follow! You won’t be disappointed by her amazing Instagram feed!
Supplies required for your Skeleton Hand Craft:
- White printer paper
- A pencil for outlining
- Scissors
- Someone’s hand to trace (make them in difference sizes why not!)
How to make paper skeleton hands from toddler’s handprints:

Begin by tracing your child’s hand. As mentioned – you can make these any size you wish.. so from toddler through to dad’s hands work well! Why not make a whole family of skeleton hands!?

Cut out the paper hand – round off the bottom (or you can leave a little tab attached, especially if you want to make a skeleton hand garland or maybe stick these over the edge of a door frame).

You will need to make some additional cuts between the fingers – to give them that long boney look. Don’t cut too much! It may be a little trial and error at first!

Using your own hands as a guide – make three joint folds/ knuckle folds. This is a good opportunity to look at your hands with your toddler and discuss how your hand is made up of a number of bones and different sections!

Now make some creases the “long way” – this will give the finger that long boney look.

Come back to the three sections for the folds meet – and reinfoce the folds as shown in the image.

Can you believe you have already finished your skeleton hand?? Yep! That is how easy it is to make paper hands. Wow! Such a clever idea from Studio Rosie – you can watch her quick video here.
Uses for the paper skeleton hands:
Halloween Sensory Bin
Studio Rosie used these as part of her wonderful Halloween Sensory Bin, add black beens or dyed rice to a box, some plastic creepy crawlies and your skeleton hands. So fun.
Skeleton Hand Garland
You can staple the skeleton hands (or fold over the ends and glue) to some black and white baker’s twine and hang these up on the mantle piece of over the door.
Spooky Skeleton Hand Doors
You can stick them to the edges of your door – as if the spooky skeleton is trying to come out from the sides of the door.
Halloween Pumpkin Hands or Table Decor
Make the skeleton hands pop out of your halloween pumpkin.. or scatter them on your Halloween table as simple paper decorations!
Bulletine Board Decor in the Classroom
Use it as general bulletine board decor in the classroom!
So many fun ways to use your skeleton hands. What will you do with yours?
