Easy Horse Headband Craft for Preschoolers
Today we have a sweet little headband or animal paper crown craft for our preschoolers. These little Horse Headband Printables come in two colors + black and white, so you can use them as Donkey Headbands for a nativity or Horse Paper Crowns for Farmyard play or The Year of the Horse for Chinese New Year 2026. These Horse Headbands would also be fantastic as a Kentucky Derby Craft for preschoolers.
Donkey Headband or Horse Headband?
Multi use simple design that works as either a donkey or horse head band. A super simple Donkey Paper Hat for kids to make – perfect as a simple nativity play costume for toddlers or preschoolers.
Choose from “full color” versions (greys and brown) or black and white version.
Horse Headband Coloring Page Version
The black and white version the children can color themselves – to “fill” more lesson time, or to assist in coloring skills. OR you can print it straight onto colorful card if you wish. If using this simple printable for Chinese New Year – you can print these cute little horse headbands onto yellow and red card too! Making this a simple cutting skills activity for your preschoolers. So cute!
Headbands for school Plays
These headbands are great for preschooler or nursery nursery costumes. You can combine them with our Sheep Headbands too, as the donkey headband is designed to match the sheep headband for nativity plays.
When using as a costume, match with with black our grey t-shirts and leggings.

This is a very simple 5 page printable – a choice of 4 different donkey head or horse head colors plus the extra steet for cutting strips to fit the to the student’s head. The instructions are simply – cut out and connect the strips together to fit the child’s head.
Headband sizing:
The hat size is restricted by the paper size you choose to print on.. but will fit preschoolers to about 8yrs olds. You can extend the edges by add insert any paper cut offs and make it a little bigger.
