Easy Paper Sheep Craft Decoration for Kids

This is a great little craft that is easy to make, wonderful for fine motor skills and a fantastic way to make paper decorations with your kids (or on your own!). These make a wonderful addition to all our sheep crafts here.
It is wonderful to have Arty Crafty Family visiting the blog again with a gorgeous islamic craft! Of course this craft would be perfect for any “spring themed” crafting session or could be adapted to for host of farmyard animals.. but today, it is part of our Eid ul Adha celebrations, as these paper sheep make wonderful decorations. Supplies needed for your Paper Sheep Decorations:
- Paper in contrasting colours – here we used brown and white (A couple of sheets of paper for the rosette and off cuts for the sheep or goat face)
- Scissors
- Glue sticks
- Pen for sheep facial features
- A little twine or thread for hanging
How to make your paper sheep decorations for Eid ul Adha
The sheep rosette is made from creating three accordion fold pieces of paper. You can use a square or rectangle piece of paper it doesn’t matter too much! Cutting an A4 sheet in paper in half works great!
Then concertina fold these pieces approximately 0.5 – 1cm wide. This is a great fine motor skills activity for kids! Take your time and don’t rush it!
Once you have three pieces of the fold accordion folds – fold the accordion folds in half and glue together along the central fold. You should now have three pieces, like in the image.
Cut out some sheeps heads (think: an oval shape with two “tear drop” ears).
Glue the three accordion fold pieces together. The last strip to glue, may be a little fiddly, take your time.
Ifyou want you can glue in some thread for hanging too.
Add a cute little face to your sheep with a black pen. The rosy cheeks where added with a posca pen, though could hole punch some pink cheeks too.
Glue the sheeps head to your rosette. And done.
