Let’s explore triangles when making this fun simple goat craft – this can be a stand alone traingle goat craft, or you can combine it with a greeting card for Father’s Day or Chinese New Year and add “You’re the Goat” or “Happy Chinese New Year” messages! A great little craft for preschoolers to get stuck into!

Supplies needed to make your triangle goat cards

Once again, supplies for this simple goat craft are super easy – pretty much just paper!

  • Triangle goat colored paper (you could use brown packaging paper if you wish) – and if you wish a contrasting color for the goats head – though one color really is plenty
  • Paper scraps for horns/ ears/ eyes
  • Black pen for goat details
  • Scissors and glue sticks
  • OPTIONAL: card stock to turn these into greeting cards on Father’s Day (You’re the Goat) or Lunar New Year (Year of the Goat 2027)

You really DO NOT need a template for this craft, but we quickly traced our shapes for you, in case this is of assistance:

How to make a triangle shaped goat greeting card

Begin by cutting your triangle and goat shapes!

To make a basic triangle goat, you will need the following simple shapes:

  • A large triangle (a taller triangle, is usually better)
  • Some ears,
  • Some horns,
  • Some eyes

And that is it. Later you can add a speach bubble if you wish.

Decorate the paper shapes

We chose to cut out a second triangle – to distinguish the goat head from the goat body. But really this isn’t necessary! Do what you feel like and just have fun.

Now decorate yoru shapes. Turn the large triangle upside down. The pointy bit will be your goaty, add a fringed too.

Add decor to the horns and eyes.

Glue your eyes above the goaty and draw a little nose too.

Now turn the triangle over, and fold the top down – so you get to see the face and it is kind of 3d.

Glue your ears and horns in place. Your basic triangle goat is finished! Isn’t it cute?

You can now add speach bubbles if you wish!

Add the 3d paper triangle goat to a greeting card:

Now it is super easy to turn tehse into Father’s Day Cards of Chinese New Year cards! For Chinese New Year, simply add some fun little paper lantern shapes and a “Happy New Year” message and for Father’s Day, you can add a You’re The Goat speach bubble. So fun and simple.
