Simple Year of the Horse Greeting Card

2026 is the Year of the Horse… in fact it is the Year of the Fire Horse for Lunar Near Year/ Chinese New Year. As I have been sharing for a few years now, I have a super simple little freebie for you – Happy New Year Greeting card “prompt”. A simple printable to get kids’ drawing and wishing friends and family a Happy New Year in English and Chinese Characters!

As you can see, it really is a straight forward little card and each child can make it it their own. They can draw a simple horse.. or they can go into more details – e.g. add lucky colors! For 2026 and the Fire Horse, the lucky colours are red and yellow. It’s lucky numbers are 2, 3 and 7. You could add some Chinese Lanterns to your drawings or some Jasmine blossoms.
