Strawberry Cow Crochet Supplies

You can use any yarn to make this potato pet crochet project. I used a super cozy chunky wool for the large plushie/ doorstop version, and a Ricorumi Cotton DK for the small pet version. Two different colors for the cow’s body needed, plus a third color for the horns. The mouth part is a piece of felt (see below). As well as a little extra green if you are making the green part of the Strawberry Cow!

  • Crochet Hook: 2mm (for the mini pet) 10mm (for the large pet)
  • Safety eyes: 6mm (for the mini cow) 10/12mm (for the chunky cow crochet)
  • Small pieces of felt for cow snout/ nose
  • Yarn: Ricorumi Cotton in desired colours for the regular amigurumi cow or Marriner Get Cozy (super chunky chenille yarn) if making the chunky cow – again in desired colours (pink and cherise are great for the Strawberry Cow)!
  • 1 kg rice in a bag (if making a doorstop), you can add a little to the bottom of the mini pet too – makes a nice sensory toy to hold.
  • Stuffing (for both the doorstop and plushie)

Pattern size

This cute cow crochet pattern can be made in any size. The doorstop plushie is 20cm/ 8inch tall as our crochet is a little tighter than normal. The potato pet is 7.5cm/ 3inch. Your versions are likely to be a little bigger.

Mini Bobble Stitch description (video tutorial on auto play)

Yarn over, go through the stitch that you are working your mini bobble stitch in, yarn over again and pull through. [3 loops on your hook]

Yarn over, pull through first 2 loops [2 loops on hook]

Yarn over, go through the same stitch again, yarn over, pull through. [4 loops on hook]

Yarn over, pull 2 loops [3 loops on hook]

Yarn over, pull through all 3 [1 loop on hook]

Continue with your SC stitches of pattern. Once you have moved along your crochet, you will see the mini bobble stitch pop out as a little paw.
