How to make 3d Ornaments for Christmas

We have two techniques to show you how to make these wonderful 3d Paper Ornaments. First the triangle ornament – perfect as a little 3d Christmas Tree Ornament Printable and second the 3d Circle and Square Baubles! Both techniques are super easy and fun to make! As mentioned, the Circle and Square ornaments are especially lovely and suitable for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day too. You could even included them inside a greeting card!

How to make your ‘Triangle Shapes’ Ornament:

Colouring in your tree ornament

Download the printable! Start by colouring in the ornament.

cut out the tree ornament and fold

Then cut out the template and fold. Start by making a valley fold then mountain style and repeat until finished – like an accordion.

glue tree ornament in place

It is time to glue shut the ornament. Have the backside of the template face you and add glue to one side of the mountain folds and glue shut. Before adding glue the very last side we will add yarn to be able to hang up the ornament later. Add glue again with yarn attached and glue shut the ornament completely.

And done! Your 3D triangle ornament will look like this!

How to make your 3d Ornament – Circles & Squares:

Lets make the 3D Circle Ornament. The square ornament is made the same way.

Colour in your template. Then cut out the four circle shapes and fold them in half where indicated.

To assemble the ornament we add glue to 1/2 of a circle and glue this half circle on top of another 1/2 circle. Before glueing shut the whole ornament we add string. Place it in the center of the ornament, add glue again to the remaining 1/2 of a circle and then press shut the two last half circles.
