Today, I welcome the gorgeous Skoy Me from Germany to guest write here on Red Ted Art! I first fell in love with her gorgeous crafts on Instagram (really, this is a feed you will want to follow) and was super chuffed when she agreed to share today’s Arty Cardboard Hedgehog Collage! We do love a cute Hedgehog Craft for Autumn Crafting. Adorable.

Cardboard Hedgehog

Pizza Box Hedgehog Craft

Colorful hedgehog made of pizza packaging and washi tape spikes A colorful, great children’s room decoration made of cardboard. Beautiful doesn’t have to be expensive … thanks to upcycling! You can make this cute hedgehog wonderfully together with your children. The little ones will be very proud when their work hangs in the nursery. Wild, colorful and wonderful …

To make these Cardboard Hedgehogs, you will need:

  • Cardboard box (e.g. from frozen pizza or cereal box)
  • Acrylic paint & brush
  • Washi Tape
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Pompoms

How to make an Arty Cardboard Hedgehog

washi tape on cardboard

Glue some 6 cm long strips of Washitape onto cardboard. We took the back of the pizza box for this.

Hedgehog shape from cardboard

Cut out your hedgehog shape from another piece of cardboard.

Then paint on your hedgehog’s body. You paint the inside white, around the outside you divide the fields into colorful areas.

hedgehog prickles

Now cut out the washi tape strips and mistakenly divide them again so that thin strips emerge. These will be your hedgehog’s prickles!

Organize your many, colorful spikes a little so you know where you want to stick them.

gluing on the hedgehog's spikes

Now you glue your colorful Washitape spikes on the brightly painted surfaces.

Finished arty hedgehog

Paint your hedgehog a beautiful face. Finally you glue on the pompoms and your hedgehog is ready.
