You can use any type of yarn for this bunny plush. The final size of your crochet toy will depend on the weight of your yarn and crochet hooks. But it is a fun pattern to scale up or down depending on yarn you use!

  • Yarn in desired colors
  • Corresponding crochet hook
  • Safety eyes
  • Felt for frog / bear eyes or googly eyes
  • Tapestry needle
  • Pair of scissors
  • Toy stuffing (we like to upcycle old cushion stuffing)

Crochet Abbreviations

We use American crochet abbreviations throughout!

  • { } = all in same stitch
  • MC – Magic Circle (also known as magic ring) – magic circle how to step photos & video available
  • SC – Single Crochet
  • HDC – half double crochet
  • DC – double crochet
  • Inc – increase
  • Dec – decrease
  • Ch – chain stitch
  • slst – Slip stitch (also seen as sl st on other patterns)
  • CCA – Change color to A
  • CCB- Change color to B
  • Bob – Bobble Stitch (a tutorial video is embedded just below – or watch it as a youtube video tutorial here!) – the bobble stitch is used to make the bunny’s arm and legs, without the need to sew them on afterwards!

How to crochet a bunny with outfits

As mentioned, you can see that this bunny crochet pattern is very versatile and super fun and cute. You can make it as a plain little bunny plushie or as a frog bunny or bear bunny!! One pattern.. three ways! Too cute. You simply have to adapt the colors of your crochet to suit your final bunny design. We used:

  • Plain bunny – all brown
  • Frog bunny – brown bunny and green frog outfit
  • Bear bunny – white bunny and brown bear outift

You can also see how the final bunny size varies on what kind of yarn you use! Use cotton yarn and you end up with an adorable amigurumi bunny. Use chenille yarn for a cute little plushie. A lovely versatile bunny crochet pattern that is easy to scale up and down!
