With this extra time at home, have you taken up caring for plants? We’ve added a plant or two to our collection, I have to admit! If you are looking for a plant craft that only needs a few simple supplies, this one is it!

Materials needed for your paper cup cactus

Paper Cup
Paint
Paintbrush
Tiny Dot Stickers
Plastic Eyes
Scissors
Glue
Cardstock, optional

How to make a cactus from paper cups!

Create it!

Time needed: 30 minutes

All you need is one paper cup and some paints to make this adorable Cactus decoration. So fun!

Paint the paper cup
Paint the bottom 2/3 portion of a paper cup and allow it to dry.
Cut off the base to make a pot
Carefully poke the scissors into the cup and cut the top, unpainted portion of the cup off – keeping it intact so it forms a ring. If your cup doesn’t already have printing on it, use paint, stickers or colored tape to decorate it if you’d like!
Add the paper cup cactus prickles
Add dot stickers to the painted portion of the cup. If you don’t have dot stickers, use a single whole paper punch on cardstock and glue the tiny dots to the cup.
Put the cactus in the “cup”
Place the painted portion of the cup into the top ring that was cut off in Step 2.

Decorate the Cactus with eyes and flowers
Add plastic eyes to the cactus.
If you’d like to add a flower, cut one out of cardstock and add a dot sticker for the center.
Glue the flower to the cactus.
