Easy Pom Pom Bee How To
We made a super cute Pom Pom Sheep Wreath a little while back.. and one of our versions included a simple and easy Pom Pom Bee! Here is the Pom Pom Bee tutorial to go with it (by popular demand!!). We do love a cute Pom Pom Craft all year round!
To make your pom pom bees, you will need:
- a pom pom maker or use the cardboard pom pom making method
- some white and black felt
- mini googly eyes
- some black yarn/ wool
- a hot glue gun
How to make a pom pom bee tutorial
Luckily I took some process step by step photos at the time!!! So I can share these with you now.
Begin by making a small yellow pom pom. As mentioned, we used the smallest size of the clover pom pom making set. We love using these pom pom makers, are they really are easy to use and the kids love them. But the cardboard method works really well too and it is great to teach kids the “back to basics” approaches as well. We have tutorials for both processes here:
How to turn your pom pom into a bee
Find the “Top of your pom pom” – ie where you left over yarn from tying off is. Then find where the “bottom” of the pom pom would be.
Part the threads aside a little, poke in the black yarn and glue in place with the hot glue.
Once secure, carefully loop it around your yellow bee!
Once you have gone all the way round. Poke the other end of the yarn back into the pom pom and glue in place (this should be opposite to where you started off.
Glue on a black round oiece of felt for the face and glue on some googly eyes.
Finally attach your white felt wings to you pom pom bee!
Finished!
This really is a quick simple bee and it is perfect for something like our pom pom sheep wreath as an extra detail!
Now add it to your pom pom wreath:
