The Book – Minecraft The Official Crochet Book by Lee Sartori
You may be familiar with Lee Sartori from Instagram, where she is known as Coco Crochet Lee. If not instagram.. then I am sure you have come across some or her MANY crochet books already! This is one talented lady, who keeps coming up with more and more fantastic new crochet books to keep you creative and very busy! And today, we have a brand new book of hers to share – the Minecraft Official Crochet Book!

I have to say, I especially love the Minecraft Blanket (you can see it on Lee’s instagram here), it looks simply amazing “in the flesh” and I love love love how generous Lee is with her designs and she has added lots of customizable elements to this blanket – put whichever character you fancy at the center.. and the different minecraft items in the corners. LOVE.
But I also love all the other makes in this books – all the crochet animals are just irresistible. And there are planty of “handy” crochet items too – from these “yarn baskets”, to coasters and more. SO MUCH minecraft fun to be had. Honestly.. if you or your loved ones are fans.. this is a must grab book!

DIAMOND SWORD

It’s your best defense against snarling hordes of zombies, skeletons, and that one creeper who will inevitably spawn around your base and cause havoc. No matter the dimension you’re in, whether the Overworld, the Nether, or the End, the diamond sword will be sure to protect you. And in a pinch, the sword is
great for getting rid of pesky cobwebs! Come to think of it, the crocheted version of the diamond sword would be handy for that, too. Make your own sword and slip it under your pillow to defend your dreams from hostile mobs.

- Wooden dowel, 14 in. / 35 cm long (optional) (Note: if this sword is going to be played with do NOT usre the dowel for safety reasons. You could cut out some cardboard to help the sword with its structure)

Special stitches
- Basic Return: Ch 1, yo and draw through 2 loops on hook until end.
- Tunisian Simple Stitch (tss): Insert hook under vertical bar of next st, yo and draw up a loop, leaving loop on hook.
Notes
The wooden dowel inserted in the sword is for structure and is 6 inches shorter than the sword for safety. Do not add the wooden dowel if this sword is going to be played with by children.
The sword is worked in three parts and sewn together to form a front panel. The same three parts are
sewn together to create a twin back panel that are then seamed together.

Sew 2 points of Row 20 of the Blade into the top of the Guard between its center 3 points. Weave in ends.
Assembly:
Place the 2 Sword Panels one on top of the other and carefully sew around the perimeter of the Sword. Stuff piece lightly as work progresses, being careful not to overstuff. Before closing Sword entirely, insert wooden dowel into the Grip Handle and lower part of the Sword. Weave in ends.
