How to make an easy Trophy Pop Up Card for Dad
I love how super easy these paper trophy chain cards really are to make. And we have more gorgeous designs planned for you later in the year!!! On auto play we have our “usual” How To Video, but do follow the step by step instructions for making this type of pop up card if you prefer:
Pop Up Trophy Cards – Step by Step instructions
Making your pop up trophies
Concertina your white paper in aproximately 3.5cm folds. They need to super neat with each edge aligning perfectly.
Draw a half a trophy – make sure the handle of the trophy is on the side that “flaps open” and also that it goes right to the edge – you will need a straight edge there so the trophies do not fall apart, a bit like a Paper Doll Chain. The centre of the trophy should be on the closed side of the folds.
Cut out the throphy. When you open it up you should have 3 trophies connected together.
Decorating your trophies
I decided it would look nice to draw a black outline around your trophies and “draw in” the handle part of the trophy handle.
I also decided to make a super simple paper rosette in blue – cut out one small circle and one slightly bigger one (the bigger one is about the size of a penny). Add the number one to the smaller circle and stick to the bigger one. Snip the edges to make it look like a rosette. Finally cut out two strips of paper and glue to the bottom of the rosette as the rosette “ribbons”.
Stick the rosette to your middle trophy.
Assembling your pop up trophy card
Add glue to the back of the two outside trophy HALVES and carefully stick down on your card!
Your card is finished. You can decorate with anything else you wish – we used some star confetti – or write some lovely messages to dad!! I think these cards are great as “congratulations” cards too.
Such an easy pop up card idea for Father’s Day to make!!! Hope you like it too!
