Santa Clause Mickey Mouse Ornament – Materials
To make this Mickey Mouse Amigurumi ornament, you will need:
Yarn: Any cotton 100% Weight/Yardage 50g/137yds: Cascade Ultra Pima Fine, 100% cotton or Schachenmayr Catania, etc.
Notions: Scissors, tapestry needle for sewing with large eye.
Crochet hook: D/3 (3 mm)
Crochet Abbreviations
We are using American terminology throughout!
- ch = chain,
- sc = single crochet,
- ss = slip stitch,
- st(s) = chain stitch(s),
- dc = double crochet +
- magic rings.

How to Crochet a Mickey Mouse Ornament – step by step tutorial
For Mickey Mouse’s Head
Round 1: Magic ring with red color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)
Round 2: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (12 sts)
Round 3: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.
Round 4: sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.
Round 5: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (36 sts). Move marker.
Round 6: sc in each chain stitch around. (36 sts). Move marker.
Round 7: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (54 sts). Move marker.
Round 8: sc in each chain stitch around. (54 sts). Break yarn and fasten off.
Make 2 heads.
Mickey Mouse’s crochet ears
Round 1: Magic ring with black color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)
Round 2: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (12 sts)
Round 3: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts)
Round 4: sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts)
Then 5 sc and ss. Break yarn and fasten off. Make 4 ears.
For Santa Mickey’s Decorations
The Snow
Chain 20, sc in the 2nd st from the hook, *dc in the next 2 sts, ss* repeat from* to* 5 more times. Break yarn and fasten off.
Mickey’s belt
Chain 23, dc in the 4th st from the hook, then dc in the each chin stitch (19 sts). Break yarn and fasten off.
Little Holly.
Let’s make a mini holly leaf – the perfect size to fit onto Mickey’s ear.
Chain 5 with green color, then make 1 dc in the 4th st from the hook, chain 2.
Now turn your work and make 1 dc in the chain space which is formed by crocheting the previous row dc. Break yarn and fasten off.
Assembling your crochet Mickey Mouse Ornament
Sew the ears using needle and red color yarn. Make 2 heads. Now let’s decorate the one head. Sew the snow with white color and the belt with black color.
Belt buckle
Chain 17 with yellow color. Break yarn. Then sew it with the yellow yarn and yarn needle.
So you have 2 heads with ears: one head is with decoration, other is just plain. Sew them together using needle and red color yarn for the head and the black color for the ears.
