Free Mug of Tea Knitting Pattern
Fancy a cuppa?! Well if you knit and you love nothing more than a hot cup of tea, then, why not make yourself a little Jellycat inspired Mug of Tea Knitting Pattern friend? Yes, that is right, the fabulous Jenny Church is back with another wonderful little knitting project for you to try out: make your self a fantastic Cup of Tea with fluffy boots to go with your Knitted Teabag Friend!

For those of you who love to knit and are a keen follower of Jenny Church’s patterns, you have probably already seen this adorable little Knitted Teabag! Without a doubt a big favourite of everyone’s:

But on to the Knitted Cup of Tea BFF…
Supplies needed to knit a Jellycat Mup of Tea Amigurumi:
- 3mm straight needles
- Double Knit Yarn in Desired Colors (White, Blue and brown)
- Black yarn scraps for mouth
- 6mm safety eyes
- Darning Kneedle
Knitting Stitches Used in this Pattern
- K -Knit,
- P-Purl,
- KFB- Knit front and back,
- K2Tog – Knit 2 together,
- P2Tog – Purl 2 together,
- B&T – Break yarn and pull through to bind off,
- StSt- Stocking stitch.

Cast on 8 in white (dk)

Row 7-9 P
Row 10-25 St St alternating 2 rows of blue (dk) and 2 rows of white (dk)
Continuing in white (dk)

Change to brown (dk)

Row 30 K
Row 31 [P2Tog, P1] x8 (16)

Knitted Mug Handle
Cast on 12 in white (dk)
1-12 St st (starting with knit row)
Cast off
Knitted Amigurumi Legs
Cast on 12 in brown (dk)
Row 1 P
Row 2 [K2Tog]x6 (6)
Row 3 [P2Tog]x3 (3)
Row 4 K
Row 5 P
Row 6 K
Row 7 P
B&T
Knit some Fluffy Slippers
Cast on 4 in cream (dk)
Row 1-6 Knit
Change to cream fluffy yarn (e.g peter pan precious)
Row 7 – KFB, K2, KFB (6)
Row 8 – K
Cast off

Making up your Cup of Tea Amigurumi
Mug
Sew up seams leaving space for stuffing (gather stitches cast on and cast off stitches to create circular top and bottom) add safety eyes and stuffing before sewing up seams or embroider face.
Handle
Roll up rectangle to create cylinder sew along seam to hold in place and then bend and attach to side of cup.
Legs
Gather cast on stitches using cast on yarn and then continue to sew together row ends to top of leg and knot together cast on and cast off yarns and then use these to attach to body.
Slippers
Fold over furry yarn part to create the top of the slipper and sew up each side.

And there you have him! Isn’t this Amigurumi Mug of Tea the cuttest? I really do think you need to make him the Knitted Teabag BFF too!! Rright?
