Oooh, here is a crochet book and amigurumi pattern that I am super excited.. I mean, who doesn’t love Winnie the Pooh and all his friends? If you are regular reader of Red Ted Art, and love the featured crochet books and crochet patterns on this webiste, you will be VERY familiar with the amazing Lee Sartoir from Coco Crochet Lee. Lee is an absolute crochet super star. Throw her a topic and she will rise to the challenge – whether it is Minecraft Crochet or Friends Crochet, Lee can put her hand to anything….. and here we are again, with this wonderful Winnie the Pooh Amigurumi and More! book!

This book is packed with Winnie the Pooh and friends crochet cuteness. Of course you get to make Winnie the Pooh himself, but there is plenty of bouncy Tiggers, mournful Eeyores and Piglets. Today, I chose the Piglet Amigurumi as a sample project – as it is a quick and easy make for you to have a go at, but there is plenty more in the book – I especially love the set of comforters (I think I need to make one for my cousin’s new baby), but also love the other extras, such as blankets, baby cardigans and tigger bibs. As you know crochet can take quite a bit of time – especially when designing patterns from scratch, so Lee has been supported by a set of fantastic crocheters in her community! Amigurumi Minis – Piglet Mini Crochet Pattern

GAUGE

With 3 mm hook, 24 sc and 24 sc rounds = 4 in. / 10 cm; make sure to check your gauge.

All parts except the Tail are worked in continuous rounds. Do not join rounds unless otherwise specified. Change to new color at last yarn over of stitch before color change. Body and Head are

Change to B.
Rnd 9: Sc in each st around.
Change to A.
Rnd 10: [Inv-dec, sc in next 7 sts] 3 times–24 sc.

Add eyes between Rnds 27–28, approximately 4 sts apart. Use black crochet thread to add eyebrows and mouth. With small makeup brush apply blush to create cheeks.

Rnd 32: [Inv-dec, sc in next 2 sts] 6 times–18 sc.
Rnd 33: [Inv-dec, sc in next st] 6 times–12 sc.
Rnd 34: [Inv-dec] 6 times–6 sc.

Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Stuff firmly, then sew remaining sts closed and weave in ends.

Rnd 1: Ch 4, beg in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 chs, 2 sc in next, rotate to work on the other side of the chs, 2 sc in next, sc in next 2–8 sc.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in first st, sc in next, 2 sc in next 4 sts, sc in next, 2 sc in last–14 sc.
Rnd 3: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 4: Sc in next 3 sts, [inv-dec] 4 times, sc in next 3–10 sc.

Final Crochet Piglet ASSEMBLY

Sew Snout to front of Head, centered between the eyes. Sew Ears to top of Head. Sew Arms to sides at Rnd 17 of Body. Sew Legs to bottom of Body. Sew Tail to back of Body at Rnd 6. Weave all ends in.
